Your right, the feeling doesn't wear off. It is very clear. I must say that i like your edit more than the original.You gave it more magic, by adepting the sky, and lightning the grass a bit more.

The sentence in the right hand corner, is a nice touch. But i personally don't know if it empowers the picture more.

Maybe there should have been something like:
As i walk over the hemisphere,
i got my wish to disappear.
